A beachfront property, Angsana Velavaru offers 3 restaurants with water villas and private pools on Velavaru Island (Turtle Island). It is a 45-minute Seaplane ride from Malé International Airport. Angsana Velavaru is a family friendly resort, and has an indoor and outdoor kids’ club, which offers a wide variety of activities including babysitting services.

All In-Ocean villas are built apart from the island by the house reefs. Each In-ocean is 2 stories high, spacious and each has an infinity pool. All beach villas are equipped with modern amenities such as outdoor rain shower, TV, coffee & tea making facilities, electric kettle, bedroom and outdoor slippers and a bathrobe. All villas have direct access to the the ocean. Wi-fi is available throughout the island.

The watersports and dive centre offers free rental of snorkeling equipment, guided snorkeling trips, , glass bottom kayaking, whale shark excursions, stingray feeding, dive trips and night fishing trips are available. Angsana Velavaru is also equipped with a Padi 5 Star Gold Palm Dive centre. The resort also houses its own marine laboratory.

Angsana's chefs serve a wide variety of local and international cuisines. Maldivian cuisine, fresh seafood and international dishes are served at the resorts three restaurants. The property can be reached by seaplane. Passengers can conveniently find our airport counter at Zone A - counter 16.

These transfers will be facilitated via seaplane flights through a third-party company. This service is available for flights landing between 06:00 and 15:30. The seaplane journey typically takes around 45 minutes, followed by a 5-minute speedboat ride to reach the resort's main island or InOcean Villas.

While the resort assists in booking seaplane transfers, please note that the resort does not have control over scheduling and departure timings, which can be subject to changes due to weather conditions.

None of the photos from Maldives are photoshopped!
It was our first time traveling to Maldives, so cannot compare this hotel to others, but the whole experience was terrific! If you stay in one of the In-Ocean rooms, you are basically staying in the middle of an enormous exotic aquarium. Any time you desire, you just jump into the water and see all kinds of marine life, including turtles, stingrays, baby sharks, octopuses, and all kinds of fish! We even watched a group of dolphins swim around the reef. The room we stayed in was huge, which made us feel like we could stay in the room our entire trip without feeling the need to go out. The staff was great, but we stayed here during Ramadan, which was extra tough on them, having to fast. Also, there is a baseline difference between hospitality in the US and Maldives; having said that I think they did a decent job. The food options were good, but not particularly memorable.
Make sure to go over the documents they send you in detail! Your all-inclusive package does not include all the restaurants on the main island! They state it in the documents they send you, but if you are not paying attention, you won't know, and when you realize that it is too late and you will have to pay for pricy meals. There are also small things that can improve the experience. For example, they should just put snorkeling gear in all the rooms. At the moment, you have to grab them at the main island and return them the day before your departure! Finding marine life is very luck based; you might see something in the water that you want to jump in and take a closer look at the morning before you leave the hotel, but you won't have your gear. You can also bring your own gear with you to the hotel!

Exceptional
Good, spacious and air conditioned vilas with a lovely pool and Bali bed. Friendly and helpful reception stuff, restaurant waiters in the in ocean vila, dedicated dive instructors and friendly medical team. Easy communication once in the resort by WhatsApp. The menu in the in ocean restaurant could be have more variety but for a weeks vacation it’s fine as all the dishes are tasty. Thank you for your hospitality

Holiday in Paradise
We stayed at an in-ocean villa and everything regarding our stay was wonderful. The house was clean, spacious and the pool had the perfect temperature. We learned that it was renovated one year ago, so we did not see issues with the old furniture as other guests are saying. The food was delicious, you can eat in 3 main restaurants: we only tried the a la carte ones: Azzuro near the villas and Kuredhi on the island. Since it is a la carte, you can order a starter, main and dessert for each meal. The food is varied but we decided to go mainly on seafood and fish. Breakfast is buffet. You need to have all food and drinks at the restaurants - there is an extra charge for room service. You can travel from the villas to the island and return via a boat which is every 30 min/1h - it takes maximum 5 minutes. Some items from the minibar are free and replenished daily. The staff are very attentive, they add you in an wattsapp group and you can communicate very easily with them.
It is known that Maldives is an expensive destination, and no exception at this resort: each activity comes at an extra cost, which is not small. When budgeting this vacation, you need to take into consideration the Seaplane tickets: which is 400$ return/per person. Floating breakfast is 70$, Night fishing is 75$, massages are over 100$ so have prepared an extra budget for activities in case you don't want to get bored at the location. I recommed to bring either USD with you, or pay by credit card, because the exchange rate of EUR is done at the resort rate.
